Implementation Tips

Best Practices

  1. Start Small: Implement the minimum viable feature first
  2. Test Early: Write tests alongside implementation
  3. Iterate Quickly: Get feedback early and often
  4. Document as You Go: Update docs when implementing
  5. Commit Frequently: Small, focused commits

Common Pitfalls

  1. Skipping Tests: Always write tests for new features
  2. Ignoring Types: Use TypeScript strictly, avoid any
  3. Premature Optimization: Focus on correctness first
  4. Over-Engineering: Keep it simple, add complexity only when needed
  5. Poor Error Messages: Make errors actionable and clear

Development Workflow

# Terminal 1: MCP Server
cd mcp-server
deno task dev

# Terminal 2: Fresh UI
cd fresh-ui
deno task dev

# Terminal 3: Tests (run on changes)
cd mcp-server
deno test --allow-all --watch tests/

Git Workflow

# Feature branch
git checkout -b feature/phase1-foundation

# Commit frequently
git add -p
git commit -m "feat: implement echo tool"

# Push and create PR
git push origin feature/phase1-foundation
