[Bug]: Listed MinGW Homepage has been Adware Link since 2021 #6980

Description

@topokel

Prerequisites

  • I have written a descriptive issue title.
  • I have searched all issues/PRs to ensure it has not already been reported or fixed.
  • I have verified that I am using the latest version of Scoop and corresponding bucket.

Package Name

coreutils, findutils, gzip, iconv, msys, tar, telnet

Current Behaviour

Based on archived snapshots for mingw.org (web.archive.org: before and after), the domain name for the MinGW project was allowed to expire sometime around when activity for it ceased on SourceForge in 2021. Sometime that same year, mingw.org was squatted into adware oblivion.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Put on whatever cyber condoms you have at hand
  • Navigate to the linked homepage for any MinGW package in the main bucket of Scoop
  • Proceed to Not disable ad blocker like it asks you to, because I cannot tell you that it won't install malware or do something else terrible if you do.

Possible Solution

While it's not immediately clear to me if activity has continued somewhere else for this project, and maybe all MinGW packages should be switched to source from the MinGW-w64 project instead, it's probably best to for now change the homepage for existing packages to point at the already well known Sourceforge homepage so people don't get sent to God Knows What.

I am attaching a Pull Request to this Issue that proceeds with this action (#6981). Feel free to close it if another course of action is decided on.

Scoop and Buckets Version

Applicable for all versions of the Scoop main bucket since about 2021. Might also apply to MinGW packages in some other buckets I'm not aware of.
