Add slide to grid

Is there a way to add a slide to splide with the gird extension enabled?

  type: 'slide',
  rewind: true,
  pagination: false,
  arrows: false,
  grid: {
    rows: 2,
    cols: 3,
    gap: {
      row: '20px',
      col: '20px'
    }
  },

This creates a whole new slide with a new grid.

rooms.add(newSlide, 0);

In stead i want to add it inside the existing slide/grid.

No there isn't. The add() method simply adds a new slide, not the grid cell.
The only way is to fork the extension's repo, and implement your custom function like addCell().
