Unable to enable background autosave on Ubuntu 22.04
was able to confirm manual saving does work

You seem to be running blobsaver as root, you can try running it as root to get your device details, then export the device details as XML from File > Export Saved Devices, then open blobsaver as a regular user and the File > Import Saved Devices > XML, and import your device. After that, open terminal and as a regular user run mkdir -p /home/$USER/.config/systemd/user/ (for whatever reason, systemd user folder is not created on install). then select your device from the list in blobsaver and click on Start background, you should get an Authentication window to execute a systemd command, type your password and you should be set (you should also get a confirmation message that it's been scheduled.)

Not sure how this app works, but I believe that it should be running at all times as regular user and check for udev rules that fixes iOS Device access to users as suggested here #459 (comment). That way, there will be no need to switch between root and non-root or run the app as root.

Can confirm that whatever was done in newest update seems to have fixed the issue, it now sets the symlink to the .timer file and works
