Hi,
I am a package maintainer for one Linux distribution. I noticed that there have been some recent releases "1.3-3 (fix update)".
I would like to point out that such a version number system may cause problems with application packaging, especially in .rpm distributions. Because in .spec file we can't add "-" in program version. By rpmbuild system it is treated as "illegal char".
So my suggestion is that the patch versions
should not be called like this: 1.3-3
but e.g. 1.3.3, where the "-" would be replaced by a dot.
