after doing `gi` to focus first edit box, any key press triggers link hints (not `f` or `c`)

Context

It started around a month ago.

When I do gi to focus the first input in the page, then Esc to escape focus and finally do J or 'K' to scroll down, or pretty much any other key the hints appear without ever pressing f or c. Esc does not remove them. Once these unwanted hints appear the only way to close them is to do f and then Esc.

I've reproduced this on a fresh Firefox profile with only the Surfingkeys extension. Please help, I really like this extension.
