If I do get it right chrome/chromium is in process of doing a big change of extensions manifests (v2 vs. v3).

Is this relevant for the extension? Is there already any work ongoing?

Hello, yeah it is relevant but no ongoing work is in progress, let's track that in #320 in case more people are subscribed to that ticket 🙂
