• Comma-joined signals/geo_type with a space after the comma fails with "not an available signal" — the split doesn't trim whitespace

• The ?epidata_call example's call %>% fetch() makes a live API call although the example is framed as a dry run

• README codecov badge points at dsweber2/epidatr with an embedded ?token= — should track `cmu-delphi/epidatr

• Test-coverage gaps: classic result = 2/-1 at HTTP 200, the 414 fallback, retry bounds, and credential-header wiring are untested

cmu-delphi/epidatr#404 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• cast-API queries filter geo_values/reference_time only client-side — wide queries over-download, and limit under-counts silently because the cap applies before the local filter

• CI hardening: pin uses: by commit SHA, declare permissions: on all workflows, unify the two API-key secret names, fix the duplicate R-CMD-check workflow names

• .onLoad prompts for cache-directory creation via readline() — library(epidatr)` fails in non-interactive sessions (Rscript/Rmd/render pipelines) when the configured directory is missing

• Timeset validation accepts vectors mixing YYYYMMDD and YYYYWW, and pvt_twitter()/pub_wiki() send weekly values on the day parameter without checking `time_type

cmu-delphi/epidatr#400 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• ?timeset documents "a list of multiple ranges" as valid input, but assert_timeset_param()` rejects it (the wire formatter still handles it)

• Passing issues = NULL with a lag (or vice versa) raises "mutually exclusive" in pub_ecdc_ili, pub_flusurv, pub_fluview_clinical, `pub_kcdc_ili

cmu-delphi/epidatr#398 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• pub_paho_dengue sends issues and lag` together although the package documents them as mutually exclusive

cmu-delphi/epidatr#397 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• Following the package's own advice (EPIDATR_CACHE_MAX_AGE_DAYS=3/24) produces an NA max age that passes is.numeric() validation and reaches `cachem::cache_disk()

• Package docs document a delphi.epidata.key option that no code reads

cmu-delphi/epidatr#395 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• Cache docs contradictions: EPIDATR_CACHE_DIRECTORY (docs) vs EPIDATR_CACHE_DIR (code); set_cache(dir = ...) example vs cache_dir signature; README's `USE_EPIDATR_CACHE

• The 414 URI-too-long fallback to POST leaves the query string in the URL and duplicates every parameter into the form body

cmu-delphi/epidatr#393 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• Unknown values in categorical fields are silently coerced to NA — including inside pub_covidcast_meta(), the discovery tool

cmu-delphi/epidatr#392 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• A promised response column that is absent from the response is silently dropped — only *extra* columns produce the warning

cmu-delphi/epidatr#391 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• A 200 response with result: 1 but no epidata returns a silent empty tibble — inconsistent with the result: -2 contract

cmu-delphi/epidatr#390 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• A 200 response missing/null result or message surfaces as "argument is of length zero" instead of a diagnosable malformed-envelope error

cmu-delphi/epidatr#389 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• Cache hits ignore reference_week_day (and refresh_cache bypasses parse-mode guards): cached tibbles served across incompatible fetch settings

cmu-delphi/epidatr#388 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• API key stored as plaintext with umask-dependent file permissions; save_api_key() steers users into a project-level `.Renviron

cmu-delphi/epidatr#387 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• Per-endpoint auth keys are sent in the URL query string and printed verbatim by print.epidata_call() / dry-run output — worth redacting

cmu-delphi/epidatr#386 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• The "cache may be invalid" warning (cache_recent_data) can never fire — it reads epidata_call$params, which create_epidata_call() never sets

cmu-delphi/epidatr#385 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• return_empty = TRUE downgrades every non-1 classic result code to a warning, silently returning truncated/error partial data as if complete

cmu-delphi/epidatr#384 · Filter by author docxology opened on Sep 16, 2026

• cast-API (v5) responses are returned with no completeness/error check — a truncated or errored CSV/JSON response is indistinguishable from a complete one
