Custom spectral sensitivity data in colspace()

Hi there! I'm modeling baboon sexual coloration and wondering if I can pass my baboon spectral sensitivity data (saved as an rspec object) directly into the achromatic argument of colspace()

Hi Jessica! Hmm, no not directly into colspace(), the achromatic = argument there is purely a TRUE/FALSE for plotting the achromatic point in the centre.

If you're trying to use a custom visual system in a colourspace model you can of course do that, but you'd need to go via the standard vismodel() then colspace() workflow. So you'd specify it in the vismodel() call before feeding the results of that into colspace(). Like:

custom_mod <- vismodel(your_spectra, visual = your_baboon, ...)
custom_space <- colspace(custom_mod, space = 'tri')  # for a trichromatic baboon space
plot(custom_space)  # Plot the resulting space
print(custom_space)  # See the details

Something like that should do the trick just fine!
