RGB and SML comparison

Hi!

What would you recommend the best process is to compare RGB values extracted from digital images and USML values extracted from spectroscopy?

My question is: Are the values comparable? I have a load of colour data from digital images and a subset of the same images with spec measures. I want to compare the spec and image values, hoping we can use digital images for this dataset as the values are highly correlated.

I have u,s,m,l extracted from spec using pavo
I have avg RGB values from images using software
