Custom abbreviations

Hello,

Cookiecutter supports custom abbreviations in its settings and I believe that this feature would greatly improve the experience of my users.

I read the related issues and I understand that you don't want to enable customization of gh and gl.

Still, are you open to suggestions? If you are, what are your red lines? Do you fear exploits? Do you believe that this feature would require great refactoring?

I'm willing to contribute if a solution can be agreed upon.
