I am new to docker
I've been trying to make a mongodb container using these commands
docker run -d
-p 27017:27017
-e MONGO_INITDB_ROOT_USERNAME=admin
-e MONGO_INITDB_ROOT_PASSWORD=password
--name mongoA
mongo
But i keep getting this specific error
Error saving history file: FileOpenFailed Unable to open() file /home/mongodb/.dbshell: No such file or directory

From what I've seen, the error doesn't prevent anything from working, so it's really more of a warning -- is someone else seeing behavior different from that?

Does the container run into other issues where things aren't working, or exit afterwards?

@wglambert it exits afterwards this problem showed up when I checked the logs of the contaner using
docker logs xyz

The shutdown was the database initialization part of the entrypoint, where it sets up a temporary server to populate the database

mongo/5.0/docker-entrypoint.sh

The last part of the logs show the image still running and waiting for connections

Hi, the docker image I'm currently using is mongo:5.0.7 and still have this problem.

Error saving history file: FileOpenFailed Unable to open() file /home/mongodb/.dbshell: No such file or directory

I'm currently using this approach to get rid of the error: issues/323#issuecomment-609803179
