Kibana version: 6.0.0-beta1

Elasticsearch version: 6.0.0-beta1

Server OS version: darwin_x86_64

Browser version: chrome latest

Browser OS version: OS X

Original install method (e.g. download page, yum, from source, etc.): from downloads

Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior: Kibana seems to be applying aggregations even before user has selected value for the fields. This makes for incomplete sorta erroneous tool tips.

is it possible that you tried selecting a new field AFTER already seeing the visualization? it's probably showing the results of an earlier config.

@thomasneirynck no. On beta2 - I started a fresh area chart and the moment I selected y-axis metric agg - percentile - it started showing up. Here is the proof ;)
