My error and issue is similar to #577 but the thread has depreciated.

I just want to add some <script> tags to my public folders index.html. The docs mention The <script> tag with the compiled code will be added to it automatically during the build process. So it should be that simple right?

Selecting the error in my console shows that the script under sources is actually a clone of my index.html

We need a demo (or sufficient source(s)) and clarification on what you're doing to begin to help.
