I would like to release 3.0 very soon but I am a bit worried because I am 100% sure the cache/index format will change very soon for #54. But don't really want to wait for #54 because that could also introduce new bugs.

Maybe it would be better to disable cache for now? An additional argument for this is decrease of indexing speed with this simple cache (for large projects).
