How to add config crate as a dependency in my Rust project?

I have tried adding the whole foundry repository as a submodule and then the following to my dependencies

foundry-config = { path = "../foundry/crates/config" }

Upon running cargo build, I get the following error

error: failed to load manifest for workspace member `/Users/tilakmadichetti/Documents/OpenSource/realaderyn/aderyn`

  failed to load manifest for dependency `foundry-config`

  error inheriting `version` from workspace root manifest's `workspace.package.version`

  `workspace.package.version` was not defined
