JetBrains Gateway does not update homepage (without restart)

JetBrains Gateway homepage Gitpod buttons do not update on first visit.

Steps to replicate

1. Download JetBrains Gateway for the first time
2. Authenticate with Gitpod
3. Go back to the home page of Gateway

Expected results

1. Button "connect to gitpod" is updated to "gitpod workspaces" (or similiar)
2. The left-hand navigation is extended with the Gitpod tab + logo

Actual results

1. Button remains as "connect to gitpod" (gitpod is already connected, so this is misleading)
2. The navigation on the left does not update (until gateway is restarted)
