Feature Description

I'm currently testing the public access feature in the 1.24.0-rc0 release. It seems to work fine so far, only drawback is, that "public access" repo are not listed anywhere. So if I, e.g., open the issue tracker for a repo with private code, users can access it by knowing the exact repo URL, but cannot find the repo in the org list or the repo list in the explore tab. For me it would make sense to list the repo as soon as someone has access to any of the public features.

It seems to work fine so far, only drawback is, that "public access" repo are not listed anywhere.

That's the designed behavior and I do not think it's possible to change it. The underlying logic is quite complex and it's impossible to "list the repo as soon as someone has access to any of the public features" at the moment.

If you want an issue tracker repo to be "listed", either:

  • make the repo public
  • use a separate public repo for the special purpose

So I think we could mark this proposal as "won't fix".
