What is the current status of the project?

I have been building a CAD/CAM system in rust that uses the Cascade CGAL libs to handle a 2D design tool, I want to upgrade the design tooling to 3D and have been looking at fornjot as a potential way of doing that. My tool adds a lot of other capabilities such as gcode generation and laser engraver and CNC machine driving and management.

The tool is in alpha right now, https://github.com/thawkins/gcodekit5 and is open source.

All I can add is that the latest experiment is going well, and I'm hopeful that it can replace the current mainline code and put the project back on track. But who knows. It wouldn't be the first time that I hit an unexpected obstacle that requires a lengthy period of problem solving, or even a completely different approach.
