Internet in a box #49
Comments
@braddockcg are these all static resources, or is there also supporting backend software (for search, etc)? The vector tiles discussion in #11 (which could reduce the storage requirements for the prerendered osm tiles) might also be of interest. |
I am afraid that this project might have died out some time ago, sorry that I haven't noticed that before. |
Ah, that's a shame, I didn't notice that either. It may have stuff we can use though, so I won't write it off quite yet. |
Ah shit, I forget what the name is, but it's something similar, it's based off the priate box, does kinda the same thing |
Found it!: http://librarybox.us/ |
Hi @Kubuxu @davidar and @pokeball99 . Internet-in-a-Box has not exactly died, as it is still routinely being deployed around the world to new schools. Development has stalled the past 18 months, but the slack is now being picked up by the Unleash Kids group and their associated XSCE school server project. If you plan development in this area you should coordinate it with Adam Holt [email protected] who is the main point of contact for the XSCE project and get on their mailing lists. |
