Hi, thanks for the feedback. I am aware the cables are a bit fiddly and am planning to overhaul them eventually. Unfortunately, because of the way soundthread is built that is a lot more work that it seems so I am choosing to dedicate my time to implementing more audio processing for now. However, some improvements will be made to this once the full audio processing chain needed to use CDP properly is in place. There is a ticket open for this here #38 Real time processing in a vst isn't really feasible as these processes run offline and most need to see the whole file in order to calculate what they need to do so can't work in realtime. It is not entirely impossible e.g. it could work similar to something like melodyne where you load the file into it but it won't ever be able to do realtime processing. For now I am focused on making this an offline processing playground, DAWs and vsts are great at somethings but not this! In same way that this would make a terrible daw! |

Awesome work Jonathan, loving this program so far. I look forward to becoming fluent in the operations of all the different tools. 1 - There appears to be some sort of clipping or buffering noise happening in the output file of certain patches. It's a very unpleasant digital click (the kind you hear when your buffer setting is too low in a DAW). There doesn't seem to be any visible clipping in the waveform. Wondering if you have any insight into this. 2 - This is more of a general curiosity about technique. It's clear that this is an excellent tool for creating atonal/harmonically unconventional sounds, which is great. What sort of techniques have you found to create patches that are, for lack of a better term, more "harmonious" (if anyone else wants to weigh in, that would be cool -- maybe this is a broader question than can be addressed in this particular thread, but curious nonetheless.) Can't wait to see how this project develops! |

Hello Devs, really fun and powerful... love the large zoom and pan-able workspace, love the variety of processes and love the way most can be animated. What I don't like
1/ very hard to join cables, much, much too fine, could be 9x the size EASILY.
2/ would be nice to be able to have first effect added to be connected automatically, seems like that would be useful 100% of the time
3/ nice to be able to connect any other processes by drag dropping anywhere on any of the pipelines, so you don't have to fiddle with carefully aiming for the squares
4/ nice to be able to replace one process with another by simply drag dropping on the one to be replaced, and connections remain intact (also RH mouse click on existing process window could bring up search to replace function)
5/ BIG ONE... turning this into a VST with real time processing if possible
