v2 beta status

@jhuckaby just checking to see how is the V2 coming along and when do we see the beta version available to take a look. would be glad to provide feedback on the app.

Good morning! It's coming along great! I'm now about 8 weeks out from launch, and I'm scrambling to get everything finished on my "MUST DO BEFORE LAUNCH" list 😊

Almost all of the core features are complete at this point, and tested.

I'll definitely be launching a beta soon -- I'm shooting for December 1, 2025 for the beta, and then December 31, 2025 (or maybe Jan 1, 2026) for the v2 launch.

Thank you so much for your offer to help. I will absolutely need beta testers! 😃

I'm launching a "coming soon" website this week to showcase the app a bit, and also launching my company blog, where I will post dev updates. I'm also working on some video tutorials (hoooo boy are those difficult to make).

I'll update this discussion thread when those go live!

@AllwynPradip Hi there! I certainly have not forgotten 😃. I've fallen slightly behind schedule however, as the documentation took me much longer to finish than I predicted. I basically spent most of November writing docs. And then I took a week detour to work on the Plugin Marketplace. And then U.S. Thanksgiving happened (family was here, etc.).

The good news is, I FINALLY finished the docs. Total tally: 39 chapters, 16,687 lines, 95,032 words, 760KB of Markdown. Whew!!! 😅

So, it looks like I may have to delay the beta for a couple more weeks, as I really want to get a few final things finished before it launches:

• Documentation viewer in the UI
• Accessibility pass (support for screen readers, etc.)
• A basic functioning Plugin Marketplace (in progress)
• A bunch of smaller "quality of life" features.
• Unit tests (in progress)
• Config Editor in the UI (nice-to-have)
• Log Viewer in the UI (nice-to-have)

The last two can wait until after the beta -- they're just nice-to-haves.

I'm getting so close, I can taste the finish line! But I really want to land a couple more "critical" features before I hit the beta release button. I hope you can stick with me!

Hey @jhuckaby , your blog entry about xyOps isn't accessable using chrome/chromium browser (tested on windows and linux). The page is emtpy. Edge browser on Windows or mobile devices works.

quick test with Firefox on the same machine: works.

btw: incognito doesn't help.

@mcfetz Ah ha, how very interesting! So, it looks like your default OS language is "DE" (German), but for some reason my code is choking on trying to compose the full 2-part locale string, for formatting dates/times. Can you please type this command into the Dev console and paste what it outputs here?

Intl.DateTimeFormat().resolvedOptions()

This will copy the output to your clipboard in JSON format, for easy copypasta back here:

copy( JSON.stringify( Intl.DateTimeFormat().resolvedOptions() ) )

I'm particularly interested in the locale property. I think I am being stupid and not realizing how this property is formatted in non-US regions.

Ah ha, thank you so much. And there is the smoking gun:

"locale":"de"

I was not prepared for the locale to be a single alphanumeric keyword like "de" (I thought it was always in the form ##-## e.g. en-US or de-DE. My stupid code has fallen flat on its face, haha.

Fixing now. Should be live within 1 hour (CloudFront TTL).
