Mount a host directory to a running VM?

Do I get it right that Lima has a built-in sftp server written in go, and VM connects sshfs to it? A couple of questions;

1. Is it possible to reconfigure this built-in sftp without restarting VM, so that it lets mount another directory on host?
2. If not, I'd like to replicate this mounting behaviour and failed so far. Any hints on how to configure regular sftp in a secure way? And how to connect sshfs to it?

Most drivers have their own built-in file sharing like virtiofs and don't use sshfs

Thank you. This is going to save me some time and effort, because rebooting the vm all the time is not fun. It's shockingly easy to use with lima: ./sshocker run -v ~/tmp/whatever:/home/koddo.linux/tmp/whatever --ssh-config ~/.lima/my-vm/ssh.config lima-my-vm

I use it in linux, so my mounts are sshfs anyway. But not a huge problem, since it's mostly code.
