A few contactless USB CCID smart card readers have been tested and different features are available:

- Works with operating system CCID driver (no driver installation needed)
- Feitian reader does not power down the chip after inactivity. Leaving a card on the reader for extended time can cause a heated up chip, which may result in unwanted consequences.
- ACR122U - just say no.
Note
Any PC/SC v2.01 reader with given tag technology support should work, assuming the presence of PC/SC driver.
