In order to build an image for k.d.d, you'll need pbuilder. The installation for this tool is trivial, as I will now demonstrate.
To install pbuilder, run the following commands:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install devscripts pbuilder dh-make fakeroot bash-completion debian-archive-keyring -yI'd also recommend checking the Debian archive keyring is present on the system, as it will be required by pbuilder. A simple ls will suffice:
$ ls -lh /usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-keyring.gpg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 55K Jan 25 2022 /usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-keyring.gpg
