Problem statement

Part of #91, but restricted to the 1000 or so JavaScript docs (pages under https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/web/javascript/).

This is an infrastructure project which should make it possible for us to have more consistent and navigable reference docs.

Work is at mdn/content#16156.

Proposed solutions

Define page types for the JavaScript docs and add them to the 1000 or so pages under https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/web/javascript/.

Task list

  • Define page types for JS docs
  • Add page type front matter key to JS docs

Priority assessment

  • Effort: Small (2-3 weeks)
  • Dependencies: None
  • Community enablement: Eventually, this would make it easier to contribute docs successfully, by making it clearer what's needed in a page.
  • Momentum: n/a
  • Enabling learners: More reliable docs benefit all users.
  • Enabling professionals: More reliable docs benefit all users.
  • Underrepresented topics / Ethical web: n/a
  • Operational necessities: n/a
  • Addressing needs of the web industry: n/a
