Have you found your solution yet? I can't access my first account because GitHub is forcing me to enable 2FA, but the country code for Indonesia isn't listed for phone number verification. :( |

Same here, the solution for now for me is using authenticator app, eg: google authenticator edit: setup authenticator needs login first afaik, if there is no device that still login, that's the issue |

Hi @Yonle 👋 If GitHub doesn’t support 2FA via text message in your country, you’ll need to set up authentication using a TOTP application. For more information on configuring 2FA with a TOTP app, here is the documentation. |

This is a known situation. GitHub does not include all country codes in its SMS 2FA list because they only add countries where their provider can reliably deliver text messages. Adding countries with low deliverability could risk locking users out of their accounts , . Here is what you should do: Use an Authenticator App (Recommended): Instead of SMS, set up 2FA using a TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) application like Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy. These apps work in all countries and are actually more secure than SMS , . How to set it up: Go to your GitHub account settings (if you are already logged in), navigate to Password and authentication, and click "Set up using an authenticator app." You will scan a QR code with the app . Contact Support: If you run into issues, you can let GitHub Support know that your country is not supported for SMS, but the primary solution is to switch to an authenticator app . |

I’m experiencing the same issue. I’m trying to change my phone number on my GitHub account, but Indonesia’s country code (+62) still not available in the 2FA SMS/Text country code list. |
