Hi everyone,

I am a current Master's degree student. I have been repeatedly unsuccessful in applying for GitHub Education, and I encountered a specific issue with my most recent application. On November 17th, I submitted image-based proof for verification. Shortly after, I received a rejection notification in my educational email. However, when I log into the GitHub website, it still shows my application as "under review," which prevents me from submitting a new application.

I have tried logging out and back in, but the page continues to display the application status as pending. This is confusing since I clearly received a rejection email on November 17th.

Furthermore, this marks my sixth attempt to apply for GitHub Education. Each time, my application has been denied, even though all the documentation I provided is genuine. For these reasons, I am reaching out for your assistance.

Uhm, base on what i see, i think u stuck in The "Zombie" Pending State**. This is a known synchronization sync issue. The email system knows you were rejected, but the frontend dashboard hasn't received the memo yet. And the recommended solution i give is that you don't need to wait. Go directly to the [GitHub Education Support Ticket](https://support.github.com/contact/education) page.

• Select: * "I have a problem with my application" -> "I can't submit a new application".*
• Tell them your dashboard is stuck on "Pending" despite the rejection email on Nov 17th. They can manually reset the state for you very quickly.

Plus, to deny the rejection because "image-based proof," here are the pro-tips that usually fix 90% of rejections (automated bots are picky!):

• Location is King: When you re-apply, ensure you are physically on (or near) campus and allow browser location access. This is the # 1 reason for rejection if the GPS doesn't match the school.
• The Date: Your photo proof must show a date clearly. If your ID doesn't have an expiry date, include a handwritten note with today's date and your username next to it in the photo.
• No VPN: Turn off any VPNs; they trigger fraud detection immediately.
