GitHub Student Developer Pack Application Stuck in "Pending" for Over 3 Months

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well! I previously successfully applied for the GitHub Student Developer Pack during my undergraduate studies. Now that I’ve enrolled in a new institution for graduate school, I’ve submitted a new application (as required due to the change in academic affiliation). Unfortunately, my application has been in "Pending" status for over three months now. I’ve double-checked that I submitted all required documents, including my academic email and proof of enrollment, but I haven’t received any updates or requests for additional information.

If anyone has experienced a similar issue or has advice on how to move the process forward, I’d really appreciate your help! I’m also happy to provide any missing information if needed—just let me know.

Hey! I’ve seen a few people run into the same delay recently, so you’re definitely not alone. Three months is way longer than the usual review time, so something is probably stuck on the backend rather than anything wrong with your documents.

A couple things you can try:

• Open a ticket with GitHub Education support https://support.github.com/
• Mention that your application has been pending for 3+ months — they can manually nudge or reopen the review.
• Double-check that your proof of enrollment shows both your name and valid dates. Sometimes applications stall if the document doesn’t clearly show current enrollment.
• If you updated or deleted your academic email recently, try re-verifying it under your account settings.
