Hi @tambiyusuf, There are a few important clarifications that might save you some trouble, as "Copilot Pro+" is not a standard GitHub tier. 1. Check if you actually need to do this
2. How to remove Student VerificationIf you still strictly need to remove your student status (e.g., for commercial compliance reasons), you cannot do this via settings.
Only GitHub Support agents can manually revoke the education status before it expires. GitHub Support team usually solve problems within 24 hours. |

I consulted with my friend who has student benefts and got to know that the standard "Upgrade" button is hidden for Student Developer Pack users because the system registers you as already having a "Pro" plan (the free student version) but without an active billing instrument to charge the difference. There are two ways to solve this: Go to the GitHub Education Support Portal and submit a ticket explicitly requesting the manual removal of your Student Developer Pack benefits. This is safer but takes time usually 1 day at max. OR Forcefully go to the GitHub Pro+ billing page in the same browser you are signed in to GitHub . This might be risky as you are using external link, but faster. You may proceed to do payment at your own risk. |

Hi! Welcome to the GitHub community. To start contributing to projects, you can follow these simple steps: Find "Good First Issues": Search for repositories with the label good-first-issue or help-wanted. These are beginner-friendly tasks. Fork the Repo: Click the "Fork" button on the top right to create your own copy of the project. Clone & Edit: Clone it to your local machine, make your changes, and then push them back to your fork. Create a Pull Request (PR): Go to the original repository and click "New Pull Request". Describe your changes clearly. Pro-Tip: Check out the GitHub Skills repositories. They provide interactive lessons to help you learn the workflow. If this roadmap helps you, please mark this as the answer! 🌟 |

Hi everyone,
I’m currently using GitHub Copilot Pro for free through GitHub Education (Student Developer Pack). I would like to stop using the free Copilot Pro that comes from my student eligibility and instead purchase a paid Copilot Pro+ subscription on the same account.
However, I can’t find any option in my account settings to:
I’ve read the official docs and the Copilot billing help article, but they only say that eligibility is re-evaluated monthly and that I may need to contact Education/account support. When I try to contact support from the Education page, I’m redirected here to the community.
Could someone from GitHub or the community please explain the exact steps to:
so that I can subscribe to Copilot Pro+ as a normal paid plan?
Thanks in advance for any help!
