That link sending you to the pricing page? That’s the system's way of saying it’s confused. It thinks you’re currently being verified (the "processing" message), so it locks the door to the application form to stop you from submitting twice. But because your account was flagged, the "key" to that door is broken. You can't fix this on your end. No amount of clearing cookies or waiting will help Go to the GitHub General Support page. Step 2: What to tell them (Copy this) Step 3: The Fresh Start |

Hello, Thank you for the guidance. My account was previously flagged and later reinstated by the GitHub team. Since then, my Student Developer Pack application appears to be stuck in a "Processing" state. Whenever I try to access the application page, it redirects me to the GitHub pricing page. I am currently a university student and would like to apply again using my university email or student ID. However, I am unable to restart the application due to this issue. Could someone please help reset my academic verification status so I can submit a new application? Thank you for your support. |

Hi It looks like your account is stuck due to your previous Student Pack approval (from high school) and the account reset after it was flagged. What you can do:

Apply again using your university email or upload valid university proof via GitHub Education, and if links are broken, open a ticket under “GitHub Education / Student Pack” or use a different browser/incognito to force the application form. |

The Problem
Why This Happens The account flag and reinstatement broke something in GitHub's backend. The system thinks:
You're stuck in a loop. This cannot be fixed from your end — it requires GitHub to manually reset your academic verification status. What To Do 1 — Update your GitHub account for university
2 — Contact GitHub Support with a specific request Go to: https://support.github.com/contact If the "Education" category redirects you or doesn't work, choose "Account & Security" or "Billing" instead — those tickets still get read by Here's what to include in your message: ▎ "My account was previously flagged and then reinstated after manual review. Since reinstatement, my Student Developer Pack application has been ▎ I have since graduated high school and am now enrolled at university. I no longer have access to my old high school email. I need my academic ▎ My GitHub username is [your username]. Thank you." 3 — After GitHub resets your status Once they confirm the reset:
Important Notes
The Bottom Line This is a database/backend glitch caused by the account flag and reinstatement. You need a GitHub support agent to manually reset your academic |

Hi, I'm pretty sure your account's education status is stuck in a broken backend state after reinstatement, this is a known bug with no user-side fix. Try this direct link: https://education.github.com/discount_requests/new |

Try renaming the file to something simple like "ID.jpg" and keep it under 2MB. Then upload it again in an incognito window. Sometimes that fixes it. If it still just gives you the red triangle with no message, email their support and ask: "What are your exact file requirements? I keep getting an error with no explanation." |

Hi, Since your account was reinstated after the manual review, it’s possible your previous Student Developer Pack application got reset or stuck in the verification process. Because you’re now at a university, you’ll probably need to re-verify using your current university details instead of the old high school information. If the Pack page still says “processing” for a long time and all other links redirect to pricing, I’d recommend opening a support request under the closest available Education or Account category and explaining the situation exactly like you did here. Mention that your previous school email is no longer accessible and that you’re now enrolled at a university. Hopefully the GitHub Education team can manually refresh or reopen your application. Good luck! |

This issue is most likely related to the GitHub Education verification system getting reset after the account was flagged and later reinstated. Since the original Student Developer Pack approval was tied to the previous high school verification, the system may now be stuck in an incomplete or outdated verification state. The problem becomes more complicated because:
Recommended solution:
If the Education support categories do not match the issue, the best workaround is to open a general support ticket under “Other” and explain the situation in detail. Since this is an account-specific verification issue, only GitHub Support can manually restore or update the Student Developer Pack access. |

Hey, It sounds like your Student Developer Pack application may still be linked to your old high school verification, especially since your account was temporarily flagged and later reinstated. If the Education Pack page says your application is still being processed, there’s a good chance the system still has your previous application data. Since you’re now in university, you should be able to re-verify using your current university information instead of your old high school email. A few things you can try:
If there’s no correct support category, choose the closest option related to GitHub Education or account verification and explain the full situation in the message. Include:
GitHub support can usually manually review these cases once they understand the account history. Hope this gets sorted out soon! |

Here is what's actually happening: when GitHub reinstated your account, it basically broke the connection to your old student pack. Because it says "processing," the system is stuck trying to look at your old high school info. Since you don't even have that school email anymore and you're in college now, that old application is just a dead end. To fix this and get your university benefits, you'll need to force the system to look at your new school. Try doing this: Add your university email: Go to your GitHub account settings, click on Emails, and add your new college email. Make sure you verify it. (You can delete the old high school one while you're in there). Try to override the link: Instead of going to the main pack page, try going straight to education.github.com/benefits to see if it lets you update your school profile to your current university. Clear your browser: Seriously, log out, clear your browser's cookies/cache, and log back in. Sometimes the "processing" page is just cached. If you do all that and it still redirects you to the pricing page or says "processing," it means your account is legitimately glitched on their backend and needs a manual reset. Since the support categories are confusing, just pick Account Settings or Billing/Subscriptions (even though it's free, it deals with account tiers). In the ticket, just say: "Hey, my account was recently reinstated, and now my GitHub Education page is permanently stuck on 'processing' for a high school I don't go to anymore. I need support to clear my old application so I can reapply with my new university email." They should be able to flip the switch and clear it for you pretty quickly. |

Hi, If you're currently enrolled at a university, you don't need access to your old high school email. GitHub Education can verify your current student status using your university email or other proof of enrollment. If the Student Developer Pack page still shows "application is being processed" after a long time, I'd recommend contacting GitHub Education Support and mentioning that your account was previously flagged and later reinstated. They should be able to check the status of your application and help you re-verify if needed. Hope that helps! |

If you're now enrolled at a university, try applying again using your university email or current proof of enrollment. If the Education Pack page says your application is being processed, it's best to wait for the review to finish. If nothing changes after a while, contact GitHub Education support and explain that your previous approval was linked to your high school account and that you're now a university student. |

Hey! This is actually a pretty common situation and totally fixable, so don't stress. What's likely happening is that when your account was reinstated after the flag, the Student Developer Pack verification got reset back to square one, and the "processing your application" message on the education page is probably a fresh application that's stuck in limbo because the old verification info (your high school email) no longer exists. The good news is GitHub Education does handle this kind of thing manually, and university students are fully eligible so you have every right to reapply. The first thing I'd do is stop waiting on that current application and submit a brand new one through education.github.com/pack with your York University email and a photo of your student ID or enrollment letter. University verification actually tends to go smoother than high school because institutions like York are in their system already. Make sure you're on campus wifi or have your university email visible when you submit because GitHub's system uses those signals to speed up approval. For the support ticket issue, the category that works best for this kind of edge case is "GitHub Education" under the billing or account section. If nothing fits perfectly, just pick the closest option and write a short note at the top explaining the account reinstatement context. That way a human actually reads it rather than an auto-filter handling it. You can reach them at support.github.com and the subject line "Student Developer Pack not accessible after account reinstatement" tends to get routed to the right team. One more thing worth knowing is that your university enrollment is what matters now, not anything from high school. GitHub doesn't expect you to still be in high school. The old verification failing is completely expected and they account for that. Just treat this like a fresh first-time application with your current university credentials and it should go through without any issues. Good luck, and feel free to update the thread once it gets sorted! |

If the Student Developer Pack page says your application is still being processed, I'd wait for the review result first. Since you're now at a university, GitHub should verify your current student status rather than your old high school status. If the application gets rejected because the old high school email is no longer valid, try applying again using proof from your university (student email, enrollment certificate, student ID, etc.). For the support ticket, I'd recommend opening a general GitHub Education support request and explaining that your account was flagged and later reinstated, and that your previous Student Pack approval appears to have been reset. Include screenshots of the "application processing" page if possible. |

Since your account was previously approved for the GitHub Student Developer Pack and was later reinstated after being flagged, it's possible your Education status became out of sync. If https://education.github.com/pack says your application is still being processed, I'd recommend waiting a few days to see if it completes. If it remains stuck or all Student Pack links redirect to the pricing page, this is likely an account-specific issue that only GitHub Education Support can resolve. You don't need your old high school email if you're now enrolled at a university. If GitHub requires re-verification, you should be able to verify using your current university information (student email or enrollment documents). When contacting GitHub Support, explain that: You were previously approved for the Student Developer Pack. GitHub staff can check your account and either restore your Education benefits or restart the verification process if needed. This isn't something that can be fixed from the community side. |

Hi everyone,
Hey,
When I was in High School I signed up for Student Developer Pack, and I got approved and I used it. Then my account got flagged for no reason, and after manual review by Github team, reinstated, but I guess that reset my Student Developer Pack, and every link that can possibly help me apply for it again redirects me to github.com/pricing. This link https://education.github.com/pack tells me they are processing my application, and I don't know if they actually are, but I know that if they actually try to verify the information I had before (I know they are not calling my high school to see if I till go there, but I don't even have the HS email I used to verify my student ship anymore) it will fail, because I went to university.
There is no right ticket category option for this problem.
Thank you
