Subject: Copilot Pro+ active, but Claude models show “Blocked / Disabled”

Hello GitHub Support,

My GitHub account is:

• Name: Chen Li
• Username: lichen782

I currently have an active Copilot Pro+ / Individual Pro subscription, but in Copilot I see several Claude models listed as:

“Available [Blocked / Disabled]”
“These models are not currently available. They may be disabled by your organization's policy or not included in your plan.”

Examples shown as blocked/disabled:

• claude-sonnet-4.6
• claude-sonnet-4.5
• claude-haiku-4.5
• claude-opus-4.6
• claude-opus-4.6-fast
• claude-opus-4.5
• claude-sonnet-4

Important details:

• This is the same GitHub account used in Copilot CLI: lichen782
• My Copilot entitlement appears active
• Account entitlement shows:
  • copilot_plan: individual_pro
  • access_type_sku: plus_monthly_subscriber_quota
• I am not using an organization Copilot seat for this account
• organization_login_list is empty
• organization_list is empty

Because of that, the message suggesting organization policy seems misleading in my case.

Please confirm:

1. Why these Claude models are blocked/disabled for my account
2. Whether this is a plan issue, client availability issue, rollout/feature-flag issue, or account entitlement bug
3. Whether this may be related to region/network/account routing
4. How I can get the expected model access for my active Pro+ subscription

If needed, I can also provide screenshots of the blocked model list.

Saw a bunch of people hit this same issue over the past few weeks, even on Pro+. A few things to try:

First, check what client you're using. If you're on VS Code, make sure you're on the latest Copilot extension version. Some older extension builds don't properly surface the newer Claude model entitlements even when your account has them.

Second, try switching to "Auto" mode in the model picker, then switch back to a specific Claude model. Sometimes that forces a re-check of your entitlements.

Third (and this fixed it for a couple of people), sign out of your GitHub account in VS Code completely, restart VS Code, and sign back in. The entitlement token can get stale and not reflect your actual plan.

If none of that works, there's also a known regional availability thing. Some Claude models have been rolling out gradually and aren't available in all regions yet. If you're connecting through a VPN or from a region where Anthropic has restrictions, that could explain the "Blocked" status.

Since your entitlement clearly shows individual_pro and plus_monthly_subscriber_quota, the models should be available to you. If the above doesn't help, open a support ticket at https://support.github.com and reference your entitlement details. They can check if there's a feature flag or routing issue on your account specifically.

Hi Gecko51 thanks for the reply. After one night, it now shows those models. I am using CLI. not sure why?

But still, one of my Macbooks showing block/disabled, though my windows PC show normal( claude models showing)

I'm facing the same issue, I have tried all the methods that Gecko said, nothing worked and I'm still figuring out why!?
