Hi,

I recently received a warning email from GitHub Security regarding potential “abnormal activity” on my account related to Copilot usage.

I want to clarify that my usage has been completely normal:

I am using Copilot Pro
I mainly use Copilot CLI
I only run a single interactive session
I do not use any scripts, automation tools, or multiple accounts
I do not share my account

What I have noticed is:

During usage (especially when running tasks with GPT-5.4), I frequently hit a 2-hour rate limit
My workflow involves letting Copilot CLI execute tasks step-by-step, which may generate multiple requests, but all are triggered interactively by me

I’m concerned that this normal usage pattern might be incorrectly flagged as automated or abusive.

Could you help clarify:

What kind of behavior might trigger this warning in cases like mine?
Does Copilot CLI task execution count as “automated usage” under certain conditions?
Are there recommended usage patterns to avoid being flagged while still using Copilot CLI effectively?

I want to make sure I’m using Copilot correctly and avoid any risk of suspension in the future.
