Weekly Rate Limit Is Too Low and Behaving Inconsistently

I’ve hit the weekly rate limit again, and honestly, it makes GitHub extremely difficult to use.

A weekly limit this low doesn’t make sense for anyone who uses GitHub Copilot seriously. It stops normal work, breaks the workflow, and forces developers to wait for the reset even though they’re not abusing the platform.

On top of that, the rate‑limit counter doesn’t even behave consistently. It jumped from 63% to 86% instantly, without any heavy usage in between. This makes the system feel unreliable and unpredictable, as if the tracking mechanism itself is malfunctioning.

This feels like a misconfigured or overly aggressive protection system. Please reconsider the current thresholds or provide a way for legitimate users to avoid being blocked for simply using the platform.

I'd like to add that my weekly limit gave me a Monday 00:00:00 UTC reset time, though I first got limited on a Wednesday. It doesnt appear to be a rolling weekly limit, rather a weekly quota with a hard cut off? Also, my Auto model doesn't work as a bypass either, so I have no fallback despite the official policy "If you hit a weekly limit and you have premium requests remaining, you can continue using Copilot with Auto model selection. Model choice will be re-enabled when the weekly period resets."

The hard-reset and lack of Auto mode means I basically cannot use the service AT ALL for 4 whole days, which is unsustainable for me
