If a billing form refuses a one-character name, it’s usually because the website has a validation rule requiring at least 2 characters for first or last name.

Here are the safest/common ways people handle it:

Repeat the character
Example:
First name: A A
Or: AA
Use initials if you officially have them
Example: A. or A K
Put the single-letter legal name in one field and a placeholder in the other if required
Example:
First name: A
Last name: - or . (only if the form allows it)
Match exactly what appears on your payment/bank records whenever possible, especially for:
cards
invoices
tax-related billing
