Hi everyone,

Hi,

I have an active GitHub Student Developer Pack until January 2028.

I can access the GitHub Foundations Certification page from the Student Pack, but I only see the exam booking link, study guide, Microsoft Learn modules, and the DataCamp skill track.

I don't see the "Request your offer code" button that is mentioned in the documentation.

Has the student voucher program ended, or is there another way for eligible students to request a GitHub Foundations exam voucher?

If your Student Developer Pack is active but the "Request your offer code" button is missing, it's usually because there are no vouchers currently available. GitHub only offers certification vouchers while supplies last, and there isn't another way to request one if the button isn't shown. Make sure you're signed into the correct GitHub account with an active Student Pack. If everything looks correct and you've never claimed a voucher, I'd recommend contacting GitHub Education Support, as they can verify whether it's an account-specific issue or simply a temporary shortage of vouchers.

GitHub Education issues those certification vouchers in limited batches. When the current pool runs dry, they don't put up a "sold out" banner; they literally just hide the "Request your offer code" button from the dashboard entirely.

As your pack is valid until 2028, your eligibility is perfectly fine. You just have to wait for the next restock. They usually replenish the voucher pool at the start of a new quarter or around major GitHub events. Keep studying, and just check the page again in a few weeks.

A few additional points:
Check if you've already claimed one — go to https://education.github.com/pack and check your "Benefits" tab. If you claimed a certification voucher previously (even if you didn't use it), the button may be hidden because you're only entitled to one.
Try the direct link — sometimes the button is hidden on the dashboard but the voucher system still works via direct URL. Try visiting https://education.github.com/pack/benefits directly while logged in with your student pack account.
Contact support to confirm — open a ticket at https://support.github.com/ choosing Education > Benefit Activation. Ask: "My Student Developer Pack is active until 2028 but the certification voucher button is missing. Can you confirm if vouchers are currently in stock or if there's an issue with my account?"
Restock timing — vouchers typically restock at the start of each quarter (January, April, July, October). If they're out now, check back in a few weeks — especially around GitHub Universe (typically November) when they often add extra vouchers.
Your eligibility is fine — it's just a supply issue.

How to Get Your GitHub Certification Voucher Through DataCamp

Step 1: Activate Your DataCamp Benefit

1. Visit the GitHub Student Developer Pack:

2. Claim the DataCamp benefit.
3. Sign in to your DataCamp account (or create one if needed).

Step 2: Complete the GitHub Foundations Learning Path

Access the GitHub Foundations Skill Track:

Complete the entire learning path until you see the "View accomplishment" status, indicating that the track has been successfully completed.

Step 3: Wait for Your Exam Voucher

GitHub Support has confirmed that DataCamp is now responsible for issuing certification vouchers.

After you complete the GitHub Foundations Skill Track:

• DataCamp will send the voucher to the email address associated with your DataCamp account.

• The voucher can be used for one of the following certification exams:

  • GitHub Foundations
  • GitHub Copilot

Step 4: Voucher Delivery Timeline

According to DataCamp Support:

• Vouchers are typically issued within 15 working days (excluding weekends and holidays) after you complete the learning path.
• Ensure that email notifications are enabled in your DataCamp account.
• Be sure to check your Inbox, Spam, and Promotions folders for the voucher email.

Step 5: Redeem Your Voucher
