As a feature suggestion, my team would like for Clickup and Github to be better integrated, namely if you set/change a Status in Github, the same would apply in Clikup, and vice-versa.

Add a CLICKUP_API_TOKEN secret to your repo (ClickUp → Settings → Apps → API Token).
Put the ClickUp task ID in the branch name or PR title (e.g. CU-abc123-login-fix).
Use status names that exactly match the ones in your ClickUp list.
A configurable status mapping per Space or List, since ClickUp statuses are custom and GitHub's are limited.
Loop prevention, so one update doesn't retrigger the other.
Support for the integration running as an app rather than as a personal user.
Upvote the existing "Better GitHub Integration" thread rather than only starting a new one.
Mention your plan type and team size if you submit a support ticket.
Ask teammates to upvote too, since votes drive prioritization.

While waiting for anything native, you can get this working today a few ways:

1. ClickUp's built-in GitHub integration (partial). It links commits, branches, and PRs to tasks, and you can change a ClickUp task's status from a commit message using ClickUp's keywords (for example including the task ID and a status in the commit). It also shows GitHub activity in the task feed. What it doesn't do is true two-way status sync.

2. Unito. This is the closest thing to real two-way sync between GitHub and ClickUp. It maps GitHub issue/PR states to ClickUp statuses and keeps both sides updated automatically. Paid, but it's built exactly for this.

3. Zapier or Make. Good for one-direction rules like "when a PR is merged in GitHub, set the ClickUp task to Done" or "when ClickUp status changes to In Review, add a label/comment on the GitHub issue". Cheaper than Unito if you only need a few specific triggers.

4. GitHub Actions + ClickUp API. If your team is comfortable with a bit of scripting, a small workflow that fires on pull_request or issues events and calls ClickUp's PUT /task endpoint gives you full control for free. ClickUp's API lets you set status directly, and webhooks on the ClickUp side can push changes back to GitHub.

For most teams I'd try the native integration plus a couple of Zapier rules first, and move to Unito if you need statuses mirrored in both directions constantly.

A two-way integration between ClickUp and GitHub that automatically synchronizes task statuses would be a valuable improvement. It would help teams keep both platforms aligned, reduce manual updates, and improve visibility into project progress.

Ideally, changes made in either platform would be reflected in the other, ensuring consistent status tracking across the team.

It would be great to see this feature considered for a future release.
