Hey everyone! 👋
I'm pretty new to development and have been trying out "vibe coding" — building and configuring entire projects purely from my phone. It's 2026, and modern tools make this almost seamless... until you hit a wall with the official GitHub Mobile app.
The Problem 🛑
Right now, you cannot create files with nested folder paths (like
.github/workflows/build.yml) inside the mobile app. When you want to set up GitHub Actions or a basic project structure, the app just doesn't let you type out directory paths. You're forced to abandon the app, open a mobile browser, request "Desktop Mode", and struggle with a tiny desktop UI on a touchscreen.
It completely kills the flow and makes mobile-first development feel unnecessarily clunky.
What We Need 💡
folder/subfolder/file.extautomatically creates the folders).🔥 Call to Action

Let’s show the GitHub Mobile team how much we need this feature so they can prioritize it in the next update!
