zope.interface reported as not installed when it was installed

• Operating system: Ubuntu Xenial (16.04.4 LTS)

Description:

When installing twisted 17.9.0, which depends on zope.interface (which is part of a namespace package), pip reports an error as a "red message" saying that "twisted 17.9.0 requires zope.interface>=3.6.0, which is not installed.", but zope.interface was indeed installed as part of the process

What I've run:

nessita@miro:~$ virtualenv --python python2 env-test

Hey @nessita! Thanks for testing out the beta and filing this issue.

Is this still an issue with the latest release branch -- pip install -U https://github.com/pypa/pip/archive/release/10.0.0.zip?

I believe this has been fixed -- see #5160.
