Enhancement Description

Add an option to enable the installation of the webdriver as described here: https://github.com/dgtlmoon/changedetection.io/wiki/Fetching-pages-with-WebDriver

Use Case

Without this many websites are inaccessible because they require javascript.

Proposed Solution

Add a checkbox to enable the webdriver container

Make a different app solely as a chrome webdriver.

I would expect that you could simply use https://apps.truenas.com/catalog/playwright/ together with setting PLAYWRIGHT_DRIVER_URL and WEBDRIVER_URL under 'Additional Environment Variables'. I tried this, but I get a server and client version mismatch. Therefore including it would probably be the way to go, or the playwright server would need to get a version management.

I'll try to bump our playwright to 1.56, however I'm not sure this is the solution for your side, playwright itself doesnt open a websocket port for changedetection to connect to. changedetection connects via the chrome CDP protocol to a chrome instance thats running with the remote-debug option on

You should be using the sockpuppetbrowser which is like a proxy that opens CDP ports on demand and spins up a virtual browser on demand

Actually there may be an option to let the existing python code just ask playwright to handle all of it without doing the CDP connections, I'll look into that.

Playwright can actually just do all the firefox/chrome/etc setup, its no where as efficient as using the socketpuppetbrowser tho.

For now I ended up just adding sockpuppetbrowser as an custom app like this and setting PLAYWRIGHT_DRIVER_URL to ws://{ip}:3000

@Noki yeah that's the correct solution for the last few years - it needs that service running (for now)

So If I'm reading this right, It just needs the socketpuppetbrowser?
Does it actually need SYS_ADMIN? If its just for the chrome sandbox, I think SYS_CHROOT should be enough?
