In scope for 1.0
What does version 1.0 mean for VlConvert? To me, it means that VlConvert has achieved feature parity with prior Vega image export approaches, while maintaining VlConvert's core requirement of having no external runtime dependencies.

This milestone is for tracking features and critical bug fixes that are needed in order for VlConvert to fully cover the use cases for these tools.
vl-convert-python with Altair integration should be able to fully replace altair_saver, and the vl-convert CLI application should be able to replace the Vega Command Line Utilities.
Not in scope of 1.0:
It would be great to be able to use vl-convert as an image export server for use cases like vega-render-service, but supporting this use case is not a requirement for the 1.0 release.
