Difference between VSplitIndex and VSplitBuf?

What is the difference between VSplitIndex and VSplitBuf? First allow to control where new split will be created but is it the only difference? It would be strange if it is the only difference

VSplitBuf uses the splitright option, by default the value is true. For example, when you call the vsplit function, a new buffer will be created vertically on the right, or left if false.
