Since the new direction of agda-unimath is to provide a training grounds for large language models, I want to distance myself from the project. I do not wish to be complicit in attempts to legitimize the LLM/GenAI industry. The fact that this effort will be sponsored by the US Department of War also does not help. I already closed all my open PRs as I do not wish for them to be merged. I also want it to be recorded that while the permissive license of the project allows anyone to do essentially whatever, training LLMs on my contributions goes directly agains my wishes as the author. I will be maintaining a low-activity personal fork on Codeberg, where I will license new contributions under an MIT-no-AI license (at least as a statement, since it's unclear how enforceable those are). On the infrastructure side, I'm still an owner of the agda-unimath-benchmarks site on Netlify. I would like to ask one of the current maintainers to create a Netlify account so that I can transfer ownership.

Hi Vojtěch, I'm sorry to see you go, and sorry that my project has such an impact that you do not want to be a part of agda-unimath anymore. I appreciate that you're doing what feels right, and I think your reservations about AI and the expMath project are very fair. Thank you for all your help over the years! |
