Unable to log in to the Adguard Ad Blocker app on Android TV

How to reproduce

1. Install the AdGuard for Android TV application
2. Check the first checkbox on Welcome on board screen, then press the Continue button
3. Wait a few minutes on Log in or Sign up screen

QR code is constantly trying to refresh at increasingly frequent intervals

I am having major difficulties logging in to the Android TV Adguard adblocker app. My Android TV os version is Android 12. The app does not appear to be functioning properly. I have tried all 3 methods (QR Code, email, and Liscense). None of the function. The QR code flickers and sometimes doesn't appear at all and sometimes only shows 3 green dots. The email and license options do not allow me to enter any numbers/letters. I can sometimes type 2 or 3 digits but then the app malfunctions and deletes what I entered. I have download the app directly from the Adguard website. I have also tried installing different versions from the github page. Nothing has worked. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I was having the exact issue. I could not log in at Adguard at Google TV.

Edit: I found a workaround.

1. I had the latest android TV version installed.
2. Without uninstalling it, I downloaded and installed latest beta from github for normal Android (not Android TV).
3. The app did not appear in applications shortcuts, I had to open from settings. I could log in to my account.
4. After log in, I reinstalled the Android TV version. App appears in applications shortcuts and it is activated.

Same issue, workaround didn't work. Should be moved up to P1. Bought AdGuard just to use on my Google TV and the app is completely unusable. -1

Please collect logs if you have such an opportunity.
Here's how to do it:

1. Connect the PC to the TV via USB cable
2. Open the Command Prompt, PowerShell or Terminal and run the following command:
   adb connect <IP address> (You can find IP address in TV settings)
3. Test whether ADB is working properly:
   adb devices (successful result will contain a device on the list of attached devices)
4. Run the following commands:
   cd Downloads
adb logcat > log.txt
5. Reproduce the problem and remember the time
6. Tap ctrl + c
7. Send this file to qa@adguard.com:
   • include [android] keyword and ISSUE_NUMBER in the subject of your email
   • specify the exact time when the issue occurred

I am also experiencing this on the Google TV Streamer running Android 14 with the most recent stable release updates installed (January 2025 security patch).

Same exact issue with the app refreshing the log-in page so quickly it is impossible to input your email or purchased license key. Using the QR method also rapidly refreshes and doesn’t work for logging in.
