SQL: Problems with "include" and "exclude"

Running on Linux 6.17.0-14-generic - OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 21.0.10

The SQL methods include and exclude exhibit different and behavior (in particular with @this)

1. The * wildcard does not seem to work with @ properties like @rid, @type, etc.
2. Both methods return a JSON object when used on @this instead of a record.

Setup:

CREATE DOCUMENT TYPE doc;
INSERT INTO doc SET id = 1;

Test:

SELECT @this.include('@r*') FROM doc -- Returns {"@rid":"#1:0","@type":"doc","@cat":"d"}
SELECT @this.exclude('@*') FROM doc -- Returns {"@rid":"#1:0","@type":"doc","@cat":"d","id":1}

In both cases the wildcard filter is not applied, and a JSON object instead of a record is returned.

This is intentional because the record is stripped of some properties, and if you try to save it back the missing properties would be removed. So it must be treated as a projection - map

OK, so this means the functionality described in the docs for exclude needs to be removed: https://docs.arcadedb.com/#exclude , meaning the example of removing properties from a result record? (cf. EXCLUDE)

I meant this functionality which was available before the SQL engine migration AFAIK:

This function can be used to remove internal properties like @Rid, @type, etc.
SELECT @this.exclude('@*') FROM doc

So exclude could be used to remove entries from a * (star) projection, i.e:

SELECT *, this.exclude('@type') FROM X

without this there is no way to do this directly.

Got it. It must have changed the transformation into the map from toMap() to toMap(false) that strips off the metadata. I think this is a bug and should be reverted
