root is not configured in VM

this is regarding the ssh connection. my VM's root doesnt have a password set and I only get it thro sudo. if thats the case how do i configure ssh?

Will test this later this day, but should also work.
I don't use sudo in the script, because in normal setup this end up in an password prompt.

ssh -p 22 -tt [email protected] sudo apt-get update (without -q its not quiet) so you should have normal update output. without need to enter anything else.

will come, because this command from scrip end in "false" (dosn't work):

ssh -q -p 22 [email protected] exit

So now we should figure out, why this not work.

Here on my screenshot you can see, the first command didn't work, the secound is fine.

so, this command must work, then we can go further ;)

the second command works for me too. In fact i have a script "ubuntuug.sh" that runs update on the VM. this works just fine too

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -y

when i run
ssh -q -p 22 [email protected]

On another interesting note, i updated my VM file to match yours & now I'm getting this error, when i run "update"

There isnt much of debug msg being logged. do you have a way to show much more detailed debug messages? the log file in /var/log is the same as i see in the console

ok, but this seems for me you go in VM with ssh command and run than (in VM) the bash.
I think so you should now enter a password for sudo, or you set <your user name> ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:ALL to sudo config.

OK, now we had another problem, ... :)

so pls tryout in Host (not VM)
