How can you be sure that ZIP file won't have false positives?

Because I have the same issues with 7-ZIP-SFX files.

I temporarily disabled the virus scanner to extract your file,
the virus scanner did not react to the extracted files.

By the way, you could also use native 7-ZIP files to maintain compression.
My thought with ZIP is only compatibility.

Let's test it. I took the contents of the 2024.04.15 release and compressed them with ZIP format: opus-tools.zip
Does your antivirus flags it?

Seconding this for the record. Win11 24H1 x64, Firefox 130. Firefox freaks out about both the .zip and the self-extracting .exe, Windows only freaks out about the self-extracting .exe but is fine with the .zip and its contents.

After disabling Safe Browing in Brave, it downloaded the file; then Windows Defender removed it. I give up. I'd rather build it myself.

windows really doesnt like the latest download still, and for some reason some of the binaries after extraction get as much as 15 flags on virustotal. zero idea why that could be happening
