The following produces the lowercase alphabet in neovim, but the string character |linewise|. in V:

:h<_<CR>jjYZZp

I tested a different help page, which consistently produces *usr_01.txt* Nvim in both "languages":

:help tutor<CR>ggYZZp

Are you sure about that? It seems to be working for me: Try it online!

On an unrelated note, you can also generate the alphabet with the range operator, i.e. <M-,> or ¬. Try it online!

As far as I can tell, that particular help page just doesn't exist on my particular install. :help v_b_<_example returns an empty string rather than the whole page.

If it is to any help, I am on Python 3.6.1 and this program returns:
