I have sayboard set as voice input on my device (pixel 8 pro android 14)
Say board does not show up under "on device speech recognition" (i don't think it needs to)
Say board does show up as an input keyboard.
Say board is not recognized or used as voice input on apps like fdroids quik sms, it only uses Google "on device speech recognition"
Whisper+ also from fdroid is recognized and works with apps like quik sms
I would really like to not use Google for anything.
I would like to use sayboard.
But it seems there is a difference between voice input and speech recognition.
or at least how sayboard is designed.
Tldr
Whisper+ works as voice recognition in apps eg quik sms
Google speech works as voice recognition in apps eg quik sms
Sayboard does not works as voice recognition in apps eg quik sms and is not one of the apps suggested to work (only Google and whisper is shown as options)
(I can only guess sayboard does not support (RecognizerIntent.ACTION_RECOGNIZE_SPEECH ) or something similar)
