MusicBrainz stage configuration to avoid miss-matches

I love the new feature of using MusicBrainz to clean up the scrobbles! However, I have some issues with less popular scrobbles. In particular, I have two cases where the clean up didn't work. I was wondering if there's any better configuration I could use to improve here.

1. Meet Me - The MoG Collective. Super small band, the release isn't registered on MusicBrainz. The match fell to another band (Mickey Valen / Noé), which I don't understand, because the band is completely different. I would expect to not find a match and just scrobble the original.
2. On The Wire - Couch. This was miss-matched to One the Wire - Roma Amor. A release for the song in the album Big Talk exists. But the release for the Single was missing. That's the reason why the match with the other artist was higher.

Can you try adding "score": 95 to your defaults? That increases the confidence level for matches from 90.

I'm surprised that even at 90 it's matching such wild mismatches. Hopefully 95 is enough to reduce those.

If see that correctly, all matches are at 100 score. I think what happens, is that the release isn't found for title album artist and therefore it is only looking for title album and then it finds releases from other artists that have the exact same naming with a 100 score. A bit hard to read from the logs as it's doing some parallel fetching through multiple apis.

I assume, I want to disable the fallback somehow, no? How would I do that?

Ah yeah that's exactly what its doing. I didn't realize that would cause such big mismatches.

I have made the title+album fallback search configurable and also changed it to be opt-in instead of always-on. If you want to re-enable it for certain scenarios use "fallbackAlbumSearch": true in the same config as fallbackFreeText or fallbackArtistSearch.

That works as intended. But it seems, that every few seconds the transformer is retrying to get a match from musicbrainz. I don't think that should be the case if the results were just empty.

Also, I'm not sure if there might be something else wrong here. I have an example here that has a clear match but doesn't get it correctly. Maybe because of the priority of the release group in the configs?

@FoxxMD With your changes to the opt-in fallback for album search, I want to leave it deactivated. Is it possible to configure the transforming such that if and only if there's no match from musicbrainz it should split the artists by a specified delimiter? I want to rely on the musicbrainz transformation where possible. But if there's no match, then I want to split the artists if there are multiple as a fallback as I have last.fm as source and this is often the case there.

Do the logs contain any lines with Transform Diff in them? If you still have "log": true in the config it should be showing the final output diffs of the transformation.

You can also try updating your docker image again, ive added more logging to help verify the Source/Client has all of the stages you expect. In the startup logs it would look like this:

I didn't have the log: true in my settings. forgot about that. i looked into it again. and it seems to work now. Thanks a lot!
